Client - Panama (Textile & Tailor)

Panama Textile & Tailor is a family-owned business in Cirebon, Indonesia. Being around for many years now, Panama’s daily operations are still under the careful care of the founders who take an active part of their day-to-day services. They aim to maintain relationships with their customers, as part of their rich culture, heritage and business ethos.

In regard to the old logo, we found multiple red flags:

- Lacked responsiveness and functionality

- Panama text written twice

- Details in icon loses visibility when logo is scaled down

- Too many elements

- Not gender-inclusive enough

The old logo:

Based on the research and discussions with the shop owners, the goal was to craft a new logo that catered to its current target market, possesses great responsiveness, and focuses on simplicity to suit the new, minimalist and modern interiors of the shop.

The extension of the stroke in the P was inspired by hanging fabrics, ribbons, and also the end of a measuring tape, when unrolled.

Production of clothes involves a lot of repetition and creating patterns, inspiring the creation of the pattern below, derived from the P of the icon, giving the brand the memorability it deserves.

“We hired Lumos Ideas to help us revamp our parents’ store logo, to go with the newly renovated store. We have worked with them for a family wedding in 2019 and didn’t have to think twice to work with them again. They continue to amaze us with their creativity, professionalism, and attention to details. We couldn’t wish for better partners to help us turn our family’s vision into reality.”
